Zachary Andrew Adams
Born on May 14th, 2006 - 6 pounds, 4 ounces, 19 inches
6/2/06, 11:00am: Here are pictures from the last week.
5/26/06, 11:30pm: I did a fair amount of work in Zack's nursery today.
I put up some shelves, put up Quilt clips, and I put up the letters of his name
above his crib. The nursery is almost perfect now, we just have to put up
the border. Zack also had his first bath today. I am posting some
pictures, but I censored them "Cops-style" by blurring his private parts.
Today was the first day we didn't have to go to the hospital since he was born,
and that was nice. We have to go back there tomorrow though for him to get
another blood test for his billyrubin level :-(.
5/25/06, 11:30pm: Here are today's pictures. I'm finding that I
have less time these days to give detailed descriptions...
5/24/06, 9:30pm: Here are a few pictures from today, our first full
day in charge of Zack.
5/23/06, 9:30pm: Zack finally came home with us this afternoon, so I
imagine the fun will begin now (like all those sleepless nights everyone tells
me about). Biggs still isn't sure how he feels about the new addition to
the family. He likes him and is very interested in the baby, but he has
also been whining more than usual for attention. I'm sure he'll get used
to it. Here are the first pictures of Zack at home:
5/22/06, 9:30pm: We weren't able to bring Zack home today. His
billyrubin is still too high, that is the stuff that makes him a little yellow.
He's doing fine other than that, he just has to spend more time under the
phototherapy light. Also today...the nurse thought it would be a good idea
for Daddy to change his first diaper. I tried to explain that it was too
difficult for me with him in the incubator, but she didn't listen. So, I
tried to change the diaper myself...and failed miserably. I got his diaper
off and began cleaning the nether regions. When I pulled out the dirty
diaper and went to grab the new diaper, he proceeded to poop right onto his
linens. It soaked through 3 payers of linens and it was solid green.
While we were trying to fix the situation, Zack did his best impression of a
fountain and pissed up into the air. Luckily, he was in his incubator, so
it didn't get all over me. Too bad I left my pee-pee tee-pees at home.
At this point, I was assisted by mommy and eventually we got him into a new
diaper and the nurse had to make a new bed for him. Obviously I should not
be changing diapers. Well, here are today's movies and pictures:

MOVIE 2
5/22/06, 10:00am: We're off to Babies R Us, then to the Pancake House
in Ridgewood (home of those monster pancakes in the pictures from the other
day), and then to the hospital to hopefully bring the little man home.
Stay tuned.
5/21/06, 11:30pm: Here are today's pictures of Zack. He's back
in the incubator because he needed more phototherapy, but he should be coming
home on Monday.
MOVIE 1
5/21/06, 12:00pm: It doesn't sound like we're going to be able to take
him home today. He had to go back under the blue light for more
phototherapy to combat the jaundice. We have been busy washing his clothes
and getting everything ready for him. Mommy is passed out in bed right
now, but we'll be going to see him later this afternoon. He's eating fine,
so once his billyrubin levels get low enough, he'll be coming home. I am
pretty sure that will be tomorrow.
